Image recognition software that was once used for cracking CAPTCHA codes is now being used for catching criminals and finding children.
 
Google is now working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to automate a way of trolling through graphic video and images of exploited and abused children.
 
Google's video section contains a large array of videos from the Internet. These videos are scanned by Google's new video frame fingerprinting technology for copyrighted or graphic material.
 
For more than a year Google has been working with analysts in the Child Victim Identification Program to automate the review of 13 million images and video that the analysts once had to review manually.
